- Tamper Evident Alert Labels
Here at the Johnson County Hospital we love the Tamper Evident Labels. They are saving us time, money, and shelf space. Before we adopted the Tamper Evident Labels, we had some patients that had to wear up to four different ID bracelets, each one coming in a large awkward box that had to be stored. They can now wear a single ID band with the Tamper Evident Labels attached so the staff is just as informed about the patients needs without all those cumbersome bracelets.

Western Arizona Regional Medical Center - In-A-Snap® Alert Clasps
Western Arizona Regional Medical center previously used multiple wristbands of different colors to alert staff to patients needs. The problem with using multiple wristbands is what I call the "bangle effect," the wristbands would become tangled on the patient and at times either tear, pinch or cause bruising and discomfort for the patient.
With the goal toward standardized color-coded wristbands nationwide, we wanted to look at the best option for a comfortable band at a reasonable cost so we could make the change all at the same time.
When we saw the In-A-Snap® alert clasps by the St. John Companies I knew right away we wanted to try them out. I put together some wristbands with at least 3 In-A-Snaps™ and had different people from our administrative team wear them for a weekend, dressing and showering with them on. We had one tester with sensitive skin, another tester that is very small, and one tester with an abundant amount of body hair. All stated the In-A-Snap® alert clasps were comfortable to wear.
The colors we use are:
Red for Allergy
Purple for DNR
Yellow for Fall Risk
We also customized a clasp: blue for our wound care patients.

Our facility has recently switched our wristbands to those provided by the St John Companies. They make a quality product that our Nursing staff said works as well or better than any they have used.
